My Approach
We all have busy schedules, and updating your headshot is not usually at the top of the list of things you want to do. I am not here to convince you it should be, but I am here to make it easy for you.
My goal is to make this necessary task as easy (and enjoyable) as possible, with minimal interruption to your day. I bring my studio to you, and only need a minute or two to capture a great photo - less time than it takes to fill up that second cup of coffee!

I am frequently told that I make headshot sessions enjoyable for even the most uninterested person. I believe I possess a unique talent to quickly connect with every one I photograph.
With more than a decade of experience as a business headshot specialist, I bring a high level of technical skill along with a confidence that fosters a relaxed atmosphere. Whether I am shooting 1 or 100 people per hour, everyone will walk away with a great experience and an impressive image. The smallest tilt of your head or swivel of the stool makes all the difference - I can see it and very quickly make those adjustments so you look your best. My confidence and experience allows for great speed without sacrificing quality.

Advanced reservations and photo day drop-in sessions available. I will handle all photo day interactions as well as post event communication and image delivery. I also welcome your involvement in these areas.

Headshot Events are a breeze to organize, and provide attendees with a simple and inexpensive professional headshot without the effort and cost of coordinating an individual session. Event hosts receive many thanks for providing this service to their attendees. This is truly a win/win/win all around!
Studio Headshot Sessions

Full studio setup at your location. Choose from my collection of studio backgrounds and customize session times. One to two minutes per person is all that is needed, though you may allow up to 10 minutes per photo subject if needed.
Volume Headshot Sessions
This option is available at conferences/events only. Hosts sponsor the cost of headshots and provide 1-2 assistants for photo day. Attendees can stop in for a quick, FREE to them headshot while attending your event. This option is advertised as a perk of the event!
Includes full studio setup at your location with a contemporary gray background. I can provide signage to use on photo day, and handle all post event communication and image delivery. Volume Headshots are completely customized to your needs. Common customizations include direct private image delivery, selecting a different background, and custom attendee sign-in to gather your desired info from the individuals photographed.
No schedule, no advanced reservations; attendees simply sign in upon arrival and hop into the studio for a quick photo when they reach the front of the line
Quality is not sacrificed - you will be amazed at the quality I can provide in this setting!

Tips for a Great Headshot
Wear what you look best in
Bright or dark colors look great in photos
Select an outfit that compliments the background. Matching the background is not recommended....something contrasting to the background is great!
Iron out the wrinkles. Removing wrinkles from clothing is possible with full Photoshop retouch, but is not included with a basic retouch.
Dress to represent your business. If you have a more casual position, a suit coat may not always be the best choice
Dont's
Avoid white or pastel clothing unless worn under a jacket
Avoid thin fabrics. The flash is much brighter than ambient lighting, and will illuminate underclothing that you may not want visible. The best check for this is taking a close up flash picture of yourself in your planned outfit.
Avoid sleeveless or strappy tops and/or dresses.
Avoid bold patterns, or mixing too many patterns
Avoid large or reflective jewelry (a flat metal pendant will reflect the flash and look like it's glowing bright white in a photo)
Glasses: avoid wearing any glasses that you do not plan to wear for your photo for at least 30 minutes before your session to eliminate marks on your nose. (remember this also goes for sunglasses on the way to your session)
How to Style Hair and Make-up
If you have short hair, avoid getting a cut right before photo day. Cuts typically look best with a couple of weeks of outgrowth.
Bring any makeup or hairspray you need along with you to apply touch-ups right before heading to your session. Please spray any sprays necessary in another room before heading to the photo area. No sprays of any kind can be sprayed in the photo area.
Style your hair as you like, keeping in mind you want to look like yourself in your photo. If you never wear your hair down, styling it that way for photos may not be the best choice.
Apply make-up as usual. It's best not to try anything new or drastic on photo day.
